In the heart of Gerês, next to the Caldelas thermal springs, Casa do Rancho was born out of Marta pimenta and Renato Costa desire to live in the countryside and create a unique place where we could welcome people from various corners of the world in a family atmosphere, in total respect and harmony with tradition and nature.

The refurbishment of the house was developed with a strong historical awareness, the rule was to have the least impact on the pre-existing architecture of the building. Two cosy houses have been restored, integrated in a magnificent landscape.

Outside, the stone patio displays a typical Minho granary next to a threshing floor that reminds us of old times. 

A swimming pool mirrors the green hills, and a garden with barbecue area extends a panorama of great beauty.

It is a set of houses, all the elements that compose it were chosen thinking of well being, comfort and tranquility. Extending Peace from the outside to the inside of the houses, a place where you simply want to be and live each moment slowly.

The concept of Casa do Rancho is based on a policy of environmental sustainability, which extends throughout the life cycle of the house's activity in order to reduce its ecological footprint. Casa do Rancho has committed to being a Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle 2022 Committed unit, with the aim of ensuring effective protection and conservation and the most active possible enhancement of the heritage and environment.
