Casa dos Videiras, dated from the 17th century, is one of the oldest houses
of a small village called Soajo situated in the middle of Parque Nacional da
Peneda-Gerês. It has been in this house where the actual Bishop of S. Tomé and
Príncipe, Dr. Abilio Ribas, has spent most part of his childhood.
Casa das
Videiras is named after the nickname of the owner’s family. It still keeps the
original architecture and traditional décor, being a show icon of the local
culture and tradition.
This house has been recuperated to receive guests and
provides them with all comfort and convenience.
The village of Soajo has one
of the most emblematic clusters of granaries of Portugal and is one of the best
examples of communal life of a village where mutual support is a way of living.
Its privileged location allows you to discover the delights of the Soajo´s
and Peneda´s valleys, the rich gastronomy and the archaeological heritage of
this amazing region.
